ALL CAPS ALL HER Girls Learn to Play - 2023-24

Program Overview

WELCOME TO LEARN TO PLAY!

As part of the ALL CAPS ALL HER platform, the Washington Capitals are excited to host our Learn to Play program for girls ages 7-14. Whether you've skated before, played hockey and need a refresher, or are completely new to the sport, we look forward to having you in our program! The program will take place on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. We welcome and encourage players from the Future Caps LTP program to join us on the ice and continue their hockey journey!

The Washington Capitals welcome those who are non-binary, transgender, gender fluid, or cisgender women to participate in this program and other programs and events within the ALL CAPS ALL HER platform.

FALL SESSION - Learn to Play 1: Introduction to ice hockey! This program is intended for first-time hockey players (or recent Future Caps LTP graduates) and will be a skills-based class. We will cover skills such as skating, stickhandling, shooting, positioning, and more!

WINTER SESSION - Learn to Play 2: Continue your hockey journey! This program is intended for players who have completed LTP 1 or a similar program and have previous hockey experience. We will cover more advanced skills in this class!

SPRING SESSION - Game Concepts: Time to play! This class is intended for players who have completed LTP 1 and LTP 2 or a similar program and have previous hockey experience. In this class, we will focus on positioning, hockey rules, systems, and game play! Our goal is for everyone to graduate the spring session ready to play hockey!

Players may register for any or all of the above sessions! Registration will remain open as sessions progress so players may continue to register and continue their hockey journey.
